On this fine evening in San Francisco, our Columbia cohort had dinner at Prospect, a swanky restaurant a few blocks from the Embarcadero BART station. The cohort gathered at the plaza station and traveled into the city together to meet other members of the ILC, like Mr. Ramsey and Ms. Kronenberg, and Columbia alumni and funders.

The dinner was initiated with a few speeches, given by Ms. Kronenberg, Mr. Ramsey, current Columbia student Matt Arciniega, and our two members of our cohort, Elena and Emily. The speeches were followed up with the entrées, then dessert. My meal consisted of a butter lettuce salad, succulent pork entrée and lastly some marvelous panna cotta.
Aside from the beautiful restaurant setting, classy atmosphere and of course the delicious meal, the dinner was a great opportunity to get to know other members of the ILC and converse with Columbia alums. I sat with two extremely interesting Columbia graduates at my table, who both had many stories to tell about their experiences at Columbia and the effect that the university had on their lives. It seems that they were truly impacted by the diversity and intellectuality of the student body, and I feel truly honored to learn alongside such a variety of students.
We wrapped the dinner with a cohort photo, a little more socializing, and eventually headed out for BART again. The city was a surprisingly pleasant temperature at night, and our walk back was improved by the occasional crosswalk glimpses of the lit-up bay bridge against the night sky in between blocks.
Once again I can't help but articulate my thanks to everyone who helps make this program and my attendance possible! I'm counting down the days!
